18-1…
February 4th, 2008, Tamar Wallace
For any other team, 18-1 would be one heck of a record. For any team, that is, except the 2007-2008 New England Patriots.
As a die-hard New England fan, last night’s loss to the Giants was heartbreaking. I mean, c’mon…what a year we’ve had as sports fans in New England—the Red Sox winning the World Series, the Celtics getting Kevin Garnett AND having the best record in the NBA, and the Patriots having a perfect regular season. Everything was going good…dare I say TOO good…until last night.
Well, in my mind, it just goes to show you that the “sure thing” isn’t always the sure thing…whether it’s sports (and oh, WOW, do I feel for all the people that lost a bundle betting on the Pats), business, or marketing. Sometimes, it’s whoever has the most heart, can overcome their mistakes the quickest, and just throws that ball as hard and as far as they can, because honestly, they’ve got nothing left to lose. Sometimes, those are the ones who pull it off in the end.
So if your business is the “underdog,” and you’re wondering how you can compete with the “big dogs,” don’t count yourself out just yet. If you’ve got the heart and are ready to turn your team into Champs, we’re here to help.
And, on a final note…congratulations to the New York Giants. They played hard, they had more heart, and they wanted this win bad. As for us Pats fans…there’s always next year.
Until next timeā¦
